Our Outpatient Treatment Program for Teens
Our teen outpatient mental health treatment program is designed to provide support that fits around your child’s schedule. With outpatient therapy programs, your teen continues to live at home and does not need to take time away from school, family, friends, or other commitments. Adolescents stay engaged in their daily lives while getting the care and support they need.
At Mission Connection, we offer a fully virtual intensive outpatient program (IOP) for teens. This program is available from anywhere within California and Washington.
Therapies and Services Offered
Each adolescent’s treatment plan is shaped by their individual needs and goals. However, the teen VIOP is structured to include the following:
- Individual therapy: Teens work one-on-one with a therapist in private sessions once or twice per week.
- Group sessions: Adolescents choose from several small group session offerings where they receive education, therapy, peer support, and coping skills development.
- Psychiatric care: Teens meet with a psychiatrist every two weeks to ensure their treatment matches their needs. Medication management is also attended to when applicable.
- Family therapy: Weekly or biweekly family therapy sessions take place to improve relationships and communication.
- Family support groups: Parents and caregivers are encouraged to attend biweekly family support group sessions where they can learn how to support their teen’s mental health recovery.
